Default Help

Trying to remove water pump. Bolts to the Lully will not loosen. I still have tension on the belt to aid me but no matter what the pulley just spins.

Remove belt, remove fan, leave pulley alone, remove bolts attached to the front cover, remove coolant hose from snout, remove water pump.

If I remember correctly, the pulley has to come off to get to all the 10mm bolts.

Either way, use a strap wrench to hold the pulley.

Well right after posting this I got two of the bolts loose. The third one rounded. So for now I tightened the ther two back and I'm saving my water pump for another day. It was just a thing I was going to do while I was doing my head gaskets.

Buy a set of bolt extractors and a strap wrench. Might as well tackle the job now while doing the head gaskets.

This is the "gold" standard of stud extractors.

you can get them in 3/8 and 1/2 Drive
