Help Cam Bearing Position or Orientation
Ok. new to the forum. Diagnosed that the cam bearing #3 close to the back of the block has almost walked out. It has not come out far enough to hit the lifter like I have seen in pictures but it has come out enough to turn the oil light on at idle. I want to try and see if I can fab something to press it back in and stake it but need to make sure it has not twisted in place. Not really want to pull the motor and rebuild it right now. Anyone know what the alignment, position, orientation is for the holes in the bearing in relation to the block? I can't seem to find any pictures of this anywhere? Which Im sure someone has come across this before. Seems like if catch it early enough and can get it pressed back in may go a while before something else goes.
I am sure that someone has done this. The motor has 167K miles and honestly I don't feel like doing a total rebuild on it right now. It runs fine no clicks. Just this light problem. Anyone have any pictures that they can post that show the orientation of the holes to the block would make it easier would be a huge help.
Thanks ....

Oil hole is at approximately the 7 o'clock position. You can probably pull it back in with a bolt, some large flat washers. I would recommend using bearing loctite on the OD of the bearing during the process. Do you have the cam out? You should measure the cam bearing id and the cam journal to make sure there is no significant wear. If it is losing oil pressure that means the hole has been exposed and you should be able to see it. Pictures?
