Fogs do that but default to off when ign. switched off and CC remains on. I have no clue as to the internals.

I'm OK with no lights when the engine is not running/ignition is not on. This D2 has a dual purpose. It's my weekend hog-hunting rig (thus the lights for tracking wounded game after dark), but Monday-Friday it will be my 16 year old son's school vehicle (4 miles, round trip). My faith in him turning off the lights is about the same in him remembering to take his lunch (on average forgets once per semester).
