Default Help!!! Did I overfill T case?

I just changed my t case fluid and am 100 miles from home. Stopped to get gas and looked underneath and there is gear oil everywhere. I put in a little over a gallon. Everything is plugged up correctly. Did I overfill and it's just coming out a breather tube. It's driving just fine. Thanks

Unlikely. More likely loose bolt on drain plug, filler plug, or one of the bolts on the inspection plate which has a gasket around it. Breather yube for TC is up high on firewall at back of engine compartment. Breather tube near TC is for rear axle.

Some guys back the Disco up on ramps to put a little more oil in the transfer case.

****! Well it just spit the other two. I filled it to the top of the fill plug. Hoping it will be fine to get home. I will order a new seal then.

How in the hell did you fit a gallon of gear oil in a 2qt system?
Did you have the truck standing on end?
With the back wheels up on ramps remove the fill/check plug on the t-case, let gear oil drain out until it stops, replace fill/check plug, you are now just slightly over full, which is what I do.

I'm guessing you put gear oil in your AT?

I ****ed up bad. I put the oil in a hole with 7/8 inch nut right behind the transmission. The t case is empty! What a idiot. I pulled and am waiting on a ride to store to get gear oil to go in the right hole. Where did I put it in?? It's not the transmission. I've done that before, correctly!

I just had to look under my truck to figure out where the heck you just pumped a gallon of fluid into and can't figure it out. And your t-case wasn't screaming dry on oil? You sure on this??

Its going to be all right, dont panic.
Can you post a pic of what hole you put the gear oil in?
The correct place is at the 10o'clock position on the back of the t-case, it is a square plug.
I wonder is you put it into the bell housing?
