Help!!! Did I overfill T case?

2 pints = 1 quart, so 1.7 quarts. Volume Conversion
(but I never measure, I just put it in untill it runs out)

Open fill hole with 1/2 inch ratchet or breaker bar. Fill until it oozes out. Replace fill plug. Check for leaks. One guy drove half way across Montanna on a trip from the West Coast, and the drain plug came out enroute. That was expensive.
An "imperial" pint is 568 ml, the US is 473 ml. But math aside, the dang thing needs all the 85W140 it will hold.

So after looking at Rave's (should have done first) it looks like I filled it through the optional oil temp switch hole (item #12 on page 41-4) This was apparently an option up through 2002, but the hole for it was still there in 03-04 models as well. I will be degreasing the t-case and checking for leaks. Crossing fingers.

You're fine.
The fill hole can't be missed.
A 1/2 " drive removes it.
Meaning - the square extension itself.
You'll find the fill hole by tracing the emergency brake cable.
The EB cable interferes with removing the 1/2" plug.
So, that's how you know you have it correct.
And, you'll be fighting the ebrake cable the whole time.
As long as the fluid is up to that fill plug - like all have said - then you'll be just fine.
