Default Help loosening transfer case fill plug

I tried a wobble extension, universal joint....also bought a low profile 1/2 drive socket that didn't fit under the e brake cable. Soaked it in pb blaster.

Any other suggestions?

Try heat. Sometimes they put loctite on those.

Use a 125 or 150mm short 1/2" extension on a 60 or 90cm breaker bar as they are often loctited in place. They are a tapered thread and can be very tight to free up. Use a smear of RTV on the threads only when refitting the screw plug.

They say prayer can be a powerful thing, but I've found that swearing at it helps more.

Why they didn't completely bury it behind the brake drum l'll never know...maybe LR just wanted to give us a false sense of hope...lol.

But, seriously...I just drove a 3 inch extension into the plug with a hammer and then added a breaker bar to that and then added a pipe to that...and then...what seemed like moments before the rover rolled over on its side and my ***** blew out of their sack...the plug broke loose.

Brian.

Now I know why I'm scared to do anything with the TC.

Lol thanks for the visual Brian. So you were able to get a regular extension in there? Mine has to go in at a pretty sharp angle hence the universal joint or wobble extension.

My ***** were firmly planted in my sack, so I clearly didn't push hard enough
