Hi,

I was checking all the hoses since I'm getting a MAF code (P0102, P1884) and I did find a hose that was loose. The plastic coupler is broken. Part of it is stuck in the hose and part of it is screwed into the engine. See picture.

I'd like to get a replacement. I have the rave manual and can find diagrams where it shows this coupler but none of the rave manual diagrams seem to have any part numbers. So two questions:

1- Anybody know part number for this specific part?
2- In general, how does one find part numbers for these cars. For my BMWs I use realoem.com which has diagrams with all the part numbers. Unless I'm being dense the rave manual does not seem to have this info.

If you are referring to the plastic nipple, pretty much any parts store can give you either a plastic or better yet a brass replacement, just take your old one in.
By the way, that broken part in no way is causing your MAF code.

 

Thanks guys! Yes I know it is not causing my MAF issues, but it feels like I need to repair anyways since I'm sure that hose must have some purpose. Or maybe not

 

One hose in that area is the PCV system, which should be cleaned out periodically. On passenger side it goes to an oil separator (pull out carefully, or squirt carb cleaner down it). The PCV system has hoses on both valve covers. If PCV system is clogged, slight pressure for oil fumes inside motor can make it leak out seals. Not that it needs any help usually.

I broke mine and replaced it with one from a 99 DII that I have (doesn't run). I bought a brass fitting from Lowe's (1/4" NPT thread x 3/8" brass fitting). I just need to see if it fits.

 

i call that part "the always broken, usually rtv patched part" I doubt that is its technical name.
