Default Help with an oil sump bolt

Hi Guys!

I just figured out that my mechanic forgot, misplaced or lost a bolt when replacing the gasket, now I need help in securing a replacement bolt; does anyone know the specs for it?

Please see the pic attached, thanks in advance! ;-]#

I've got three engines and none of them have a bolt there.

...mine is the Bosch engine and as you may see, there was a bolt; now there isn't and those pipes are quite loose.

Mine are Bosch too, but I must have a different bracket. All three oil pans I have are threaded but didn't come with a bolt.

Now I'm wondering whether I am missing something!

What's bothering me is that I have pics with the bolt, and now without, I think I should go pay a visit to my sloppy mechanic! ;-]#

can't you get a tap and die set and see what threads it? it doesn't seem to be a bolt requiring high tensile strength.

Take out the 10mm bolt that secures the heater pipes to the side of the engine block or top of the intake manifold and see if that fits. If not find you an 8mm from one of the other parts on the engine like SAI valve. It will probably be either one of those. Then you can take it up to ACE hardware and buy yourself a half-dozen.

I'd love to see how this is resolved because I have nothing holding the pipes to my engine. They have brackets holding them to each other and I see that holding them to the engine is the way to go. My mechanic is an idiot and may had misplaced them, then forgot that they were ever there. But he doesn't throw anything away, ever, so if he had a picture he could probably find them.

I'm the mechanic.
