I am looking at buying a 2003 Land Rover Discovery SE with 6500 miles. It appears to be in perfect shape. I am worried about the poor gas milage it gets and the poor turning radius. The price is $22,000. I think it is a good deal, but I am wondering what some owners think. Are there any problems that I should expect with the Disco?

 

with the mileage the price is ok. Make sure the records are right. keep them right. get the shop manual. If you can buy an extended warrenty. It will pay for itself with one visit to the dealership. make sure what you are buying with the warrenty. some of them are not what they seem. to many buts, and maybes. the gas milage on my vehicle has been good. 96 disco. 20hwy 16 city. the high way is usually over 70 with the a/c on. It will be hard to find another one that will do any better. maintainence is the key to proformance. hope it helps. gotta love a rover. duboff

 

that sounds like a great price for 6k miles and a 2003. I just got a 2000 disco myself.
I'd suggest a a full-service oil change. The reason I say that is I found out that my brake pads had less than 5% on them & also that the Sevice Engine Soon light pbbly means a lot more than 'change your oil" - Mine's in the shop still; so I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with it yet.
The maintenance is gonna tear your wallet up; but like duboff said - gotta love a rover.
