Help with starting issue
I have a 2003 land rover discovery 4.6 V8. It starts fine except when it is parked on a incline(facing up). It will crankbut does not start. If I continue to crank it, it then sounds like it is backfiring. Any ideas?
It does it no matter how much gas is in the tank. As for the incline. It doesn't take much. By not much I mean the kind of incline you would find on parkig lots, not the kind you would find with serious off roading.
Yeah thats what has me puzzled. I would think that if it was a bad fuel pump it would have trouble starting uphill, downhill, or flat. Like I said, it starts fine except on a incline. I'm kinda new to Rovers so I thought yous guys might know something I don't.
Do you live in San Francisco and does it matter which end is up or down?
sorry, i couldnt resist.... it is a valid question though....sometime if you get towed the fuel shut off will kick in...you should check...
