Hi, it's me again, since I am young and very inexperienced with car problems, I come to you guys for help.

anyways, I just bought my 03 disco 3 weeks ago or so, and it's bugging me that when I drive the car for like 5 minutes, this tapping noise is being made. try to imagine it like this:

taptaptaptaptaptap kinda like a revolution over and over.


kinda like if you held a baseball card up to a fan at a slow speed.



so does anybody recognize this type of problem.

it's freaking me out since I just bought the thing and I'm not rich enough to be able to repair my disco whenever it needs servicing.

How many miles?

Probably time to flush the engine - go buy 6 quarts of ATF.

 

The Car has 72,600 miles .


and what is ATF ?


and you think the tapping will go away if I did that?

 

Automatic Transmission Fluid

I haven't heard the tapping so it's hard to say.

Drain the oil - put in the ATF fluid - let it idle for ~20 mins - DO NOT DRIVE - drain ATF/change filter/refill with oil.

Then think about some sea foam for the intake.
