I can't disengage the automatic transmission into drive. It seems to be locked out in Park. I need some help please.....thanks

 

This is a 1998 Disco and I just checked and I do NOT have brake lights...........any help would be greatly appreciated

 

Might be your brake switch.

 

Mostb likely your brake light switch is bad. I have not done this but somebody else has, unhook your reardefroster and put a paper clip into the connector,start the trk, turn on the reardefroster and then try it.

 

The brake light switch also controls the lock, mine recently went out in a parking lot and i got it to for a little bit by taping the switch while someone looked at the lights and i quickly switched it in to nuetural position.

 

My fuse was blown but I have since blown 3 more fuses in last 2 days. Also right rear blinker is out. Any more ideas?

 

If you keep blowing fuses you have a electrical short somewhere.
