Yes, wait till you have problems to do the head gaskets. Start with the PCV mod and the inline thermostat mod. The PCV mod will slow down the oil leaks a lot. Clean the engine thoroughly with purple power and oven cleaner so we can see the other leak sources.

Here is my experience. Make sure and so the valve seals. Mine dried out and I got to do it twice.

I had forgotten about the electrical issue, honestly I think it was a bad CPS, put in a brand new Bosxh while you have access.

@TyTyBinks PCV mod https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...install-92942/ Solves a lot of oil related issues

Then get one of these
https://www.amazon.com/Vgate-Elm327-Reader-iPhone-Android/dp/B01FU5MVI8/ref=sr_1_33?crid=JYLQN1NZB6WN&dchild=1&keywords=elm327+odb2&qid=1596589141&sprefix=elm+%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-33 https://www.amazon.com/Vgate-Elm327-Reader-iPhone-Android/dp/B01FU5MVI8/ref=sr_1_33?crid=JYLQN1NZB6WN&dchild=1&keywords=elm327+odb2&qid=1596589141&sprefix=elm+%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-33

Any elm 327 will work, then if you have an Android phone download torque (free) and set it up to monitor your engine temps. You will have to research for Iphones but the software is out there. The dash gauge is useless it will not move until you are overheating.

Once you know your actual temps post them, there are number of things you can do to lower them which will help the life of the head gaskets significantly. The inline thermostat mod is the best and it not expensive.

Not a problem you will get all kinds of help if you ask, and treat the people answering your questions with a bit of respect. Everyone here started out just like you, learning how to do things for themselves at some point.

And in many ways the Disco is a good choice, they are pretty easy to work on overall.
