Hi Simann,
Those D2R bulbs look interesting. Looks like it has a black shielding coating on the glass bulb. I assume that helps cut down on the glare. Also looks like it requires an adaptor to fit the standard plugs on the ballasts. I would be interested to see it side by side in my setup with what I have now in the driver's headlight and a D2R bulb in the passengers. The D2R bulb looked keyed similar to the H7 bulb slot I require.
What is the cost of converting a reflector style as I have on my 2003 to a projector? Can it be aimed to project a wide path as I have now? I really like my current setup, but I am always open to hear from people who know more than me.

You can buy adapters to fit D2R bulbs in a D2S housing, they are like $20 a pair. D2R do cut down on glare, they are made for cars that have HID's but do not have projector housings. (2001 Acura CL, early 2000 Mercedes and such).

As well, I would highly suggest you purchase a lower K (kelvin) temperature bulb, 5000K is way too blue and does not give you maximum light output, just a color. OEM is between 3000-4000 K, this will also cut down on the glare factor but still give you that crisp-clear look that you want with HID's.

I will be doing an install sometime soon, I will let you know the parts I use and how I do it. ( I doubt I will retrofit projectors in the housings of my 03', the used pairs of headlamps for these models are way to pricey to have fun with)

My HID lights look much bluer my photos than in person. They really appear white at night and while standing in front of the vehicle. I considered the 4000k bulb temp but the light guide I was referencing looked yellowish and I didn't like that. I guess I could switch these out to the high beam and go for a 4000k on the low beam. I didn't think there would be much difference in color.
