So true BEST! I have zero gun stickers on my vehicles. I'm thinking about moving back to Nevada where gun laws are still kinda good. Maybe I'll consider Colorado too. I get to do most of my work from home. Hope I run into you someday out there. As soon as I fix a couple of minor things Im gonna take the truck for a good long trip, since the motor is new. Take care...

Yes he does, Glad you didnt get caught up. I also prefer the .45. I was raised with it I got 3. lol. I usually wont wear it if I have party favors in the truck. I put it way in the back stashed by the extra seats in the rear. Ive seen documentaries where cartel people have some crazy hidden compartments. For example, you would turn on your left blinker and step on the brake pedal. Then the compartment would swing open, like from a passenger air bag area. lol

Sadly criminals are catching onto the 30.6/30.7 businesses and the law abiding citizens that respect the law then leave their firearm they normally carry (CHL/LTC/PTC). Criminals then look for vehicles with say a Browning/Magpul sticker on em, break a window and pop open the console or glove box and walk off with your firearm...

Once again Criminals DO NOT obey laws.....
Just found one on eBay yesterday for $30. I was already planning on removing the CD changer this week, so pretty stoked on that little score.

The Tuff Rok locking console compartment is also very nice for a small CC firearm.

Brandon318, Best 4x4, can you guys share a little more about the box you're putting behind the flap where the CD changer was? That sounds like something I'd like to have ;-)

I was pulled over crossing from WA to Idaho, which is famous for stopping cars coming in from both WA and OR thinking they might find some substances. At the top of the Lewiston hill, Highway 95 southbound just over the border, officer sitting and waiting. I was gawking at the scenery going 50mph... Cop followed me all the way down the hill into town and pulled me over, said i was going 50 in a 55. Ask me three times if I had anything illegal in the vehicle. He kept looking in the back but the cargo cover was covering a cooler full of beer and suitcase. He didn't ask for a search but just kept on with the anything illegal questions. I kept saying nope, just that I was heading to see my folks who live there... then he let me go. I did have a small amount of recreational substances sealed in a mason jar in one of the rear cubbies under my gallon of Rotella and roll of shop towels so I got off lucky there.

I like the idea of a compartment especially when traveling to such border states.

On some SD D2’s with out a CD Changer there was a black insert that screwed in from the back & it gave you a small cubby under the seat from the front.

I'm confused. I don't understand some of the back and forth re: firearms. (Not asking about party favors/recreational substances.)

Here in NC, there is no legal prohibition to having a firearm in a location not accessible from the passenger area of a vehicle, regardless of whether or not the driver/occupant has a concealed carry permit. That means the trunk of a car that has one, or the rear cargo area of and SUV, for example. Are there states where it's illegal to have a firearm in a vehicle where it's not accessible from the passenger area? (I get the firearms stickers/gangbangers thing. That's something completely different.)

What state are you in is the first consideration.

Do you have a felony conviction on your record?

It can be the difference of life and death
