The brass version of the screw is like $6.00 at a BMW dealer.

thanks for the info!
the screw it self is about $10, but of course they sold their last one TODAY!
I hate it, but at this point will bite the bullet and pay $100 and also replace all hoses and clamps, that will give me another excuse to drain the system and keep bleeding.
what it really sucks is that the Disco is in a parking lot of a little shopping plaza, so hopefully I will be able to replace the parts there without issues.
It looks very simple, it shouldn't be more than 20 mins ( if they let me do it )

but at least it broke down in FL not in WY...

the hose on the right its giving me a little of a hard time., the fan is in the way and don't have all my tools with me.
Geeee I guess one of the guys in here wasn't kidding about getting AAA and carrying tools LOL

oh well...
question:
I'm planning on running that hose "over " the radiator cover so I have room to "push it in " and secure it with zip ties.
is that a high pressure hose? is it safe?
Refilling the coolant system now and then intending a test drive.
Please let me know how crazy Am I?
