thought I would share this mod. It is not quick release but it is a solid and inexpensive way to mount a hi lift. about $50 all in
start with a jegs spare tire carrier mount Part Number: 555-81092
remove the lug nut covers on the spare tire lug nuts, on my rig they are threaded all the way out
slight modification require to the mount, see photos
weld the mount solid, see photos
install stainless washers as thin spacers to the back side of mount see photos, this accounts for the convex shape of the factory wheel
about a 1 inch bolt, washer and lock washer to mount to tire,
I used some hardware I had lying around to mount the jack, I felt the mounting system was not quite up to snuff from jegs.
mount mount totally flush washers as spacers on back welded test fitted finished and painted final mounting hardware

the tire carrier and hinge does not seem to even notice the weight of the jack.
there is no shaking or movement, the gate swings easily and true. according to hi lift the jack is 25 pounds
If the gate is so near it's weight capacity limit that it can't handle 25 pounds they would be falling off every day, i am quite sure it is engineered with more than enough tolerance in its load capacity that 25 lbs wont hurt it.
Very neat! The issue is the carrier itself. It's very common even with stock tires for the mount to start cracking around the studs that the wheel mounts on. If the face of the carrier were plated with 1/8" steel this would not be a concern. The factory material is just too thin.
