Default Hill descent light relay

I know the relay for the Hill Descent is built into the fuse box, but the interior fuse block is very hard to find for a 2000. Any ideas, bypass it, inline relay, ???

the error code is 101:Brake Light Relay Drive Short to Supply on my nano com as well as 81: brake light Relay Short to Supply.

Anybody developed a workaround?

Thanks everyone!

Well... I really do think your only option is a new interior fuse box or repairing yours (which is basically not possible)

You can find one eventually !

I went through this with my old 00 D2

Thought so, nashvegas, but there’s always hope! Really appreciated your extensive write up on this problem but I have a question, actually 2.

Will the fuse block out of a truck with SAI work on mine, which DOES NOT have SAI? I found one for $150 on eBay with the part number 1999/02 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 INTERIOR FUSE BOX PANEL YQE000410 4.0L W/ SAI OEM

And #2, I would assume that a fuse block from a UK TD5 truck will also not work?

Your thoughts/experience on this is greatly appreciated!

Pretty sure SAI vs non SAI doesn’t matter for the fusebox.

As for TD5, I think I was wrong. I just peeked at the parts catalogue -- JLR Classic Parts
(the best one out there btw)

It looks like they are the same - there’s no differentiation between NAS and non NAS or V8 and TD5.

Interestingly, the under bonnet fusebox is definitely different NAS vs non NAS. But not the interior.

That part # you posted should work. BTW I have in my apple notes a chart for when I stumble upon these at junkyards.

FUSE BOX PART #S 99-02 D2

Good #’s Oldest to newest
YQE103830
YQE000110
YQE000250
YQE000410

NOT - too old
YQE103320

CANNOT USE 99-02 - this is 03/04 FACELIFT ONLY
YQE000251

Thanks again nashvegas. I also sent a "parts enquiry" to JLR Classic Parts to determine whether or not the TD5 would work in an NAS V8.

Will let you know when they respond, hopefully in a day or two.

And also, once a part is obtained, it's pretty much "plug and play", just unplug everything, obviously one plug or fuse at a time, and plug into the "new" fuse block?

The truck has no leaks but did in times past, so I'm sure corrosion of some sort is the situation.
