Default Hint of savings while doing front driveshaft rebuild?

Just completed my rebuild and I shop pretty hard on prices. So I figured I'd share my .02. For about a year now I've used the local Advanced auto to get a few parts mainly cause of the savings. Here is the break down. Use code VISA. Its $10 off 30, $30 off 75, and $50 off 150. And pickup in store. If all items are not at one store select other stores near. Now go to your main store hopefully its close. Mine is across street and they call and have the parts transferred to there branch. So I go back a few hours later and pickup all my parts. This only happens if your local store is out of what your looking for.

I never use the $50 off 150. Because if you add $75 to cart and pay using code and do it twice you actually save $60 bucks on $150 in cart. Now your under a $100. Thats pretty killer figure I'd pass it along. I saved over $150-200 in just my Major service upon getting it home. Here is my most recent saving. Pricing is after discount

3- Neapco 1-0005 which came in PDQ boxes and I will say they looked nice, zerk in end cap. $7.26 each x 3 = $21.80

1- Neapco Double Cardan CV Ball Kit 7-0081NG $18.90

and

1- Tube Green Grease Synthetic Waterproof high temp grease - $5.45

TOTAL PRICE AFTER CODE AND FL TAX= $49.62 Would have been $76.15 without.

Now that makes it worth rebuilding. My hand's, knees, and knuckles are paying for it though lol. Happy Saving!! Hope this helps as I just got my vehicle and I seem to be dumping cash loads already lol. It sure is fun though.

Can you please provide us with steps on how to rebuild?
This to me is an "art".
How do you get it apart?
Pounding with a hammer or a drift.

How back together?

Did you get grease fittings?

And congratulations on saving that money and getting it done with the bruises.
That's why we need you to tell us or me how to do it!
My front shaft is original I am told

good instructions in the "writeups and how to" sticky right here on this site.

removing the old center ball seems to be the hardest part.

and remembering to put in the joints so they turn the correct way.

I followed a combination of the "How To's" in the writeup section. Center ball seemed cake with a slide hammer and single small claw, 2 whacks and it was off. I found getting them out the hardest only used a C clamp style press from Advanced Auto Rental. Had a little trouble with the Double cardon joint removal as the side of the ujoint housing kept hitting the center joint of the cardon center. Just follow the how to's closely and apply generous grease.
