Homelink on a 2004 question
I'd like to buy a Homelink unit off of eBay since my 2004 S model did not have one.
If I understood correctly the 2004 year trucks have the unit as part of the mirror. I'd rather just use the other Homelink unit that mounts in the plastic. Does anyone know if the different units have different wiring? Or would the older D2 Homelink plug into my 2004 wiring, which I assume would be there in the overhead even though it was an option.
Has anyone done this before?

Yeah D2 self dimming mirrors are much much much much better vs a D1. I had a 97 Range Rover and a 97 D1 and those $$$ self dimming mirrors sucked!!!!!! I bought one new to replace my 97 Range Rover's that was leaking and it started leaking 2 months later.
I've owned 3 D2's and not a single one of them ever failed. I even modified and installed a D2 self dimming mirror into my 98 D1 that I currently drive as my D/D.
