Default How can I tell if the CDL is locked?

I don't have a lever or a switch. I'm just reaching my hand up there to lock it. But before I do anything, How can I tell I locked it in the "lock" position?

I read somewhere about jacking up a wheel and seeing if it turns. Well in one position it turns a couple inches and in the other position the wheel turns a few more inches than the first.

No matter what, the light should come on telling you its engaged. (upper left of dash display) I did mine by hand as well and the light came on for me. And yes, you should jack up one wheel, you can feel once its locked. I dont think you have to do that but I would think its much easier. Also, you can tell if its on by driving in a circle, it will feel like it is grabbing at the ground sorta.

Well, I just installed the CDL front output housing, and haven't connected the switch that illuminates the dash yet.

I think it is unlocked right now. I switch between the two and in one position it is tougher to turn the wheel.

The position that is tougher to turn the wheel is locked.

As already mentioned, the easy way IS to just jack up 1 wheel, if it spins the CDL is not locked, if it dont, it is...........

The steering wheel wont be harder to turn, but it will be harder to drive in a tight circle.
SO if you turn your wheel all the way to the left until it stops and then drive in a circle that circle will be smaller with OUT the CDL locked.
Once it is locked you will have the turning radius as a Amtrack train.
