How deep of trouble am I in?
I had a thin head gasket on my Discovery I. Leaked into the cylinder.
Was not as bad as the example picture.
Does not take much..

Ugh. In addition to my ongoing power problems, while I was under the truck today I noticed what looks like coolant accumulating on the base of the oil pan. Looks like I'll be taking the truck to the shop to figure out WTF is going on, to include a probable head gasket. It's really going to hurt if I need a head gasket *and* a valve job.
Most likley bad gasket as water passage just behind that cylinder. My pass side was the same, piston mostly (steam) cleaned. Make sure to get the heads checked for warp/flatness and i reccomend just have the done. Mine were 12-15 thou out. Valve job, decked, cleaned, all threads tapped, $280 at local shop, 1 day...Did i mention this was the second gasket change in 2 yrs? Didnt machine heads the first time... When they warp they twist at the ends (WATER PASSAGES).
