I've been looking at a lot of other Discos recently, online, and at a few junkyards, and it's occurred to me that I've never actually seen another disco with a single sunroof instead of the typical double sunroof setup. It's very possible mine was installed aftermarket, or by a dealer, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had just one. I haven't taken apart the electronics to see if it's stock or anything yet, but instead of the fat, normal width window-like switches I have a single, skinny gray switch. It appears to match the rest of the interior (as in it looks like a Land Rover part), so that's what made me skeptical.

Also, I don't have a sunroof shade. The one the previous owner included was absolute trash and rattled all the time, and definitely wasn't original by any stretch of the imagination, so I took it out. Now, I'm missing the bar at the front that the shades clip on to (and the shades of course). Am I supposed to have the two shades or an opaque sliding cover like what was included?

I'm fairly sure I have an SE Disco.

 

pictures will help us figure out this mystery. Verify the trim (S, SE, HSE) and show us pics of the vehicle inside and of the sunroof...... Hope you don't get offense if I "check out" your Disco! hehe

 

Sounds like you have an SD model that did not come with a sun roof from the factory and someone installed one later.
