Every single 03-04 D2 I’ve ever owned = goes thru H7’s like a madman. LR actually had a campaign for it back in the day. The key was long life H7 bulbs, they lasted much longer. I could only imagine how quick they’d burn out with DRL’s!

I’m still a huge fan of the 94-02 H4/9003 bulb setup vs 03-04 stuff.

Thanks for all the info, advice, and assistance. The set I put in last week were normal output "long life" Phillips. I had been using high output Sylvania, but apparently they are "known" to burn out quick (at least I am seeing that on other forums). We'll see how it goes. I was not able to look at the relays over the weekend, but still might look at that as a stop gap measure since it is reversible.

I like the look of the HawkEye overall and with this info I think I will look at it as a near term investment in the near future.

Glad to know I am not the only one!

In Canada are the DRL's on at full power or reduced? I assume reduced to extend the bulb life, but can't say? Mine are certainly 100%!

My 07 FJ Cruiser uses the same bulb technology and it has DLR's that are reduced to about 50%. I have had to change out it's bulbs only once in 12 years.

@Flem...
Did you try removing relays 5 & 6 to see if that would help?

I have not had a chance yet. Last Saturday I did replaced the window regulator and motors on both passenger side doors however. That killed all my play time. Maybe this weekend, but I am digging out from under 2 feet of snow dumped by yesterday's blizzard. The Disco is warm and safe in the garage so no cool pics to post.
