it's variable depending on temperature. You might be able to do it with a resistor? but I don't know.

Just curious.... what is your gas mileage when running a colder engine?

Don't know yet. Just fixed 02 sensor problem as well. About to go on a trip for the weekend. I'll post back what I get. So far the liners have quit slipping and my oil leaks have been drastically reduced. No con so far.

This idea is along the line of what I want to do. Just don't know how to. Just trying to see if I can get normal results out of a colder engine with the SES light off without a whole lot of work.

I would sure try this. It's cheap and easy. Start with a low resistance and move up till you get the result you want. They cost pennies each.

I'm going to follow this thread as it seems like a great idea. At least in California and other areas where it's not too cold. Although, maybe it would still run warm enough in cold areas since it would still keep at least 160 degrees.

I'm guessing the Thermostat you bought is not the right shape for a stock install? You have an adapter that you can change it out to others?

Any photos of your mod?

Jesus. The code is because the engine is too cold, order a 170. And if that's too cold go for 180

I just wonder if running that low will contribute to engine sludge?

Just got back from my trip to the mountains of TN. Got just under 17 mpg. Had 4 people in the car, luggage, a/c on, and SES light on for engine being "too cold".

As for the thermostat SuperSport, I got the guidance from this site and the in-line thermostat mod thread. Did it a little different since I had just bought new hoses, thermostat and water pump just before I did this mod. Super easy. I originally didn't drill the thermostat. Bad idea. Takes too long for thermostat to get up to temperature. I then drilled 2 holes. Probably will go back with one. Seems like it could warm up a bit quicker.
