Default How do I remove fender flares?

I have looked plenty on how to remove the fender flares but I cant find anything with details, just short clips of a hairdryer on the flare, is that all it takes is some heat? I would guess its to melt glue? and if it is what do I use to get rid of the excess glue that would be stuck on the fender.
Thank you for your time.

heat and peel off. 3M makes a product to use with a hand drill to remove the remaining adhesive.

It's double sided tape, but yes you are heating up the adhesive on the tape.

Amazon Amazon
(these work great...although you should be able to just grab one at a local parts store vs ordering and waiting (if you are in a hurry).

They are on with double sided tape.
I did no heating or other, just used some plastic trim removal tools to peel them off bit by bit.
Something like these.

Did the same for the bumb guards on the doors etc.

Cleaned the tape/glue residue off with an eraser wheel

Do note that there probably is some sand etc in there, so do not drag the tools on the paint too much, maybe have a good wash before doing it.

Once the flares are off, there will be some residue. There is a 3M eraser wheel that you can attach to a drill which will remove the residue safely.

I pulled them off slowly using a plastic pry tool and knocked off the residue with the 3M eraser wheel. came out great and I don’t have to look at faded sun baked plastic arches.
