Default How to ID the T-Case
Somewhere I read how to identify your Transfer case by the VIN. 03 Disco II up to a certain VIN didn’t have the CDL and later 03 to 04 had the CDL. Also, where can I find whether it’s a 41D or 42D on the t-case?

Everything I have read says that:

99-6 month of 2001 production came with CDL. All other years except 2004 are not equipped.

Never seen anywhere that lists a 2003 with CDL from the factory in North America. Could be wrong but I doubt it.

Reach up on top of it to feel for the actuator mechanism?
