Default How much tire can I fit with stock suspension and 18" wheels?

I'm wondering if I can fit some taller profile tires on my D2 with stock suspension and 18' wheels. My goal is to have tires that will be quiet on the highway,.....but also give me a bit of off road ability. Ive done some off roading with the stock low profile street tires and it did surprisingly well, but would prefer to have a taller profile and a bit more aggressive tread if it will fit.

There are more aggressive looking tire as the factory size like KO2, Nitto and General tires. Duratrac has 60/265/18 which im sure will stil fit. I went to duratrac with 1.5" OME and the ride got bumpier.

I ran 265/65r18 Cooper AT3s for a while on stock springs. They were still within factory spec and I didn't get any rub even at full lock/full articulation with both sway bars disconnected. That said, some people have reported minor rubbing at that size. That was a beautiful size at stock height and I highly recommend it. The Coopers are truly spectacular tires, also, and reasonably price.

I switched to 265/65 18 Firestone Destination AT. Real happy with them. Low road noise.

I was looking at the KO2s but wow are they expensive. At the recommendation of my local place I went with 265/65 Hercules TerraTrac AT2s on my 18" rims. They are very low noise on the highway and handle sand and rocks pretty well. In mud they will clog fairly quickly but will also clean rapidly after you get out.
I do get a little bit of rub when I'm close to lock but only when turning in one direction, so I think it's mostly because my wheel arches are kind of dinged up and out of shape. I also had to flip the mount for the spare to get the back door to close.

Brian, there is an inherent problems, wider tires or softer and deeper tire treads equals more road noise invariably. I run these Continental CrossContact UHP 107Y on my D2 both on and offroad, 255 50 R19, the same as the RRS. No problems so far in most conditions.
