Hi all,

Ive previously owneda Series 2, two Series 3 Stage 1 V8s and have a S2a. I also have a 97 D1 v8. I'm sure that the transferbox in my D1 is as noisey or noisier than any of the older landies that I have owned! In normal around town/highway driving it has a faint consistent whirr or whistle like noise, on and off power (the note changes a little bit though). In low box it whirrs away irrespective of its in diff lock or not. This whirring, particularly on road annoys me at times - I know LR transfer boxes arent perfectly quiet, but is this normal?

WHAT? I CAN NOT HEAR YOU, WAIT UNTIL WE GET TO A STOP LIGHT!
My '97 is not very nosiy, yes there is driveline noise, but when I switched to 85w-140 in the diffs and t-case and it helped quiet things down, especially in the summer.
