Default How thin is thin on the break pads?

With my wheels just right I can see thro and look at my break pads from 1/16 too 1' what is good how thick?
I have never done breaks befor should I try is it hard?

O) I have 03 disco hse 51,000 miles!!!!

If your pads are thinner then the backing plates, they need to be replaced.
As to your doing the brakes, yes, if you want to save alot of money, I can walk you thru a brake job if you are at least somewhat mechanical.

The only tricky part to doing brakes is if a shop did it before you, its probably wayyy to tight for you to get off. Gotta put some extra mustard on a long armed socket, then you can pop the calipers off!
