Default How to turn off anti theft on 04 disco

So I have an 04 disco, the remote stopped working while ago and I only use the key to lock and unlock. Went to open the door yesterday and the door lock just spins doesn't work any more. Grrr, After the police opened the door the anti theft went off and disco will not start and anti theft keeps going off. I unhooked the battery to stop it but how can I turn it off for good? The key in the door for three seconds will not work, obviously. Any help would be great.

What if you repaired the issue with the door lock and then used the key as usual?

yes planning on doing that but would like to drive in to my guy and not incur the $300 towing cost. Just want to know how I can disable it for now. I have just put new H2O pump Radiator, hoses last week. Funds are low.

Only one remote? Did you replace battery with known good one? Surely you have but have to ask.

Couple links on probable issue with fixes.

Yes both keys work it is the module in the tuck itself that is not working. New batteries in both. :-(

There are 2 attachments from your door handle to your door lock actuator.

1- linkage from handle to actuator that unlatches the lock when the door is unlocked.

2- straight pin from door lock cylinder to door lock actuator.

#2 is broken. Remove door panel, peel back plastic, un hook #1.

Locate small torx on door jamb at handle location and remove.

Remove door handle. Look inside with flashlight and you will see a white cross shaped recessed section on the actuator.

Attach battery and remove horn relay on under hood fuse box.

Use a screw driver to turn the white cross on the actuator mimicking the key unlocking the actuator.

Alarm system will be satisfied.

There is a roll pin that holds it in. Use a tiny punch to gently it push out. You can fab a replacement out of a nail.
