My shop installed a Turner V8 Engine long block, gas flow heads and Kent performance cam almost a year ago. I am only at 10K miles. The Kent cam sure gives the engine a little more pep. I have been happy with it.

ACG, I'm glad you like it. Where are you located? Could you give me an idea how much the shop charged if they installed the long block? I'm here in DC and it seems like no one has heard of it or wants to put it in.

Also, Do you or others remember the long block coming with all the gaskets (for example valve cover gaskets, manifold gaskets, rear seal, etc.). I'm learning more everyday about swapping the 4.6 engines. I've pulled an engine a long time ago from a Dodge Daytona and contemplating swapping this on my own.

That's great to hear, Sean. The price has seem to have gone up for these engines over the last few years but probably the best value compared to other options.

If I had to do it over, I would have ordered a long block with the gas flowed heads. The shop that put my HG's in buggered the job, and I had to redo them myself. Or just get a short block and put the heads on yourself. RPi sells heads with bigger valves even. That would be fun.
Thanks, CollieRover, yes, my plan is to go with the long block option as it seems like most of the hard work is already taken care of.

Think the swap in mine was late 2016. Bought the D2 as a non runner in need of an engine but with the body in great shape, the interior I wanted, and an SE7 which I wanted. Engine swap was the first thing done.

Have done many road trips, seen over 100'F and below 0'F. The engine has not missed a beat.

I am located near Vancouver, BC. Here is a cut-n-paste from the ship invoice...

Remove 4.6L V8 engine from vehicle. Remove manifolds and ancillary parts. Install new engine oil pump gear and seal in front cover and install on re-manufactured engine. Install all ancillary parts and manifolds from original engine. Re-install engine in vehicle, fill with break-in engine oil & fill coolant. Following manufacturers start-up procedure, run engine and test operation. Road test vehicle and re-check for leaks, top-up fluid levels and verify repair.

This was supplied by Turner:
- 4.6L V8 Engine Long Block with Top Hat liners - W/ Gas Flow Heads and Kent Performance Cam

My shop had to order the rest of these parts:
- Engine Front Cover & Oil Pump Assembly - OEM 1 Unit
- Drive Plate - Automatic Transmission - Genuine 1 Unit
- O-Ring Oil Filter Adapter 1 Unit
- Oil Filter Housing Inner O-Ring 1 Unit
- BOLT FLANGED INTAKE SHORT 10 Unit
- BOLT FLANGED INTAKE LONG 2 Unit
- SCREW VALVE COVER 4 Unit
- Screw Valve Cover 4 Unit
- O-Ring Oil Pick-up Tube 1 Unit
- O-ring Camshaft Sensor - Genuine 1 Unit
- O-Ring Oil Cooler Pipe - Genuine LR 4 Unit
- O-ring - Small - Oil Cooler Pipe - Genuine 1 Unit
- Gasket Exhaust Downpipe 2 Unit
- Nut Locking - Exhaust Downpipe 6 Unit
- Oil Filter - OEM 1 Unit
- Break-in Oil - Conventional 5W30 - 1L Bottle 6 Unit
- O-RING COOLANT RAIL 1 Unit
- Coolant - Eco-Freez Global - Pink 13 1 Liter
- Clamp V8 Engine Valley Gasket 2 Unit
- Air Filter - Engine - Genuine 1 Unit
- Heater Hose - 5/16" 6 Unit
- HOSE CLAMP FUEL INJECTION

The shop quoted a labor of CAN$2,250 which is US$1,731 based on a 1.3 exchange rate.

ACH, Thanks for the comprehensive list of parts. This is very useful in planning all of this out.

Here’s a thread with all the builders of River V8’s I could find.

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...e-links-95873/

Toddco 5.0 may be very very sweet. I’d port match the Exhaust manifolds though.

I’m not sure todco is doing much work. I tried to buy headers off him a few months ago and they refunded my money with no email or reply after I had ordered online.
there motor package seems sweet tho.
