if you dont have a dry place to R&R it yourself I say yeah just let the guy do it. $250 is kind of high for the rebuild but $65 to R&R is a good deal, it can be a PITA getting those nuts off.

Thanks, I called the shop and gave them the go-ahead. It will be ready later this afternoon.

They are going to lube the rear shaft as well. One question on that note- why don't I see as much discussion about the rear shaft on the forum? Also, is the term 'flex disk' the same as the 'roto flex' I read about on here?

When I get home, I'll be sure to post pics of the new addition...

when the rear drive shaft explodes it doesn't take a $5K transmission with it so we're not as interested in it as we are the front shaft.
yeah, flex disk, roto flex, guibo all the same thing.
