Default I need to find a switched power source on my D2.

Ok, so hopefully this will be easy. I need to find a switched power source in my D2. I'd actually prefer it be in the engine bay since that's where I try to keep all of my relays for lights and things. I need it to hook up two things: A battery voltage meter, and in the future a CB radio. I can run it through a relay no problem, it doesn't need a full 12v from the battery, it just needs to turn on and off with the ignition to activate a relay.

Thanks everyone!

In the engine compartment fuse box, the 'Auxiliary Circuits Relay' (R7), which is switched by the ignition switch, switches 2 x lives back to the passenger compartment fuse box on 2 x White/Green trace (WG) wires.

These WG wires are in connectors C0572 and C0574 -

If you need an ignition-switched live inside the vehicle, there are a couple of accessory sockets on the front of the passenger compartment fuse box, which can provide this -

Accessory Socket S13

Socket S13 is fed from the Ignition Switch on a 3.0mm˛ cable, through C0028-4, via F30 (20 Amps)

Accessory Socket S12

The terminals in S12 are numbered from the bottom upwards -

The circuits are as follows -

Terminal-5 - Live - ignition switched (position 1 on ignition switch), via F27 (10 Amps)

Terminal-4 - Live - permanent, via F20 (15 Amps)

Terminal-3 - Live - switched, from auxiliary circuits relay, via F15 (20 Amps)

Terminal-2 - Live - from main lighting switch (sidelights position), via F33 (10 Amps)

Terminal-1 - Earth - via C0583 to C0017-1 (Earth Header) on 3.0mm˛ cable

I can supply the proper connectors to fit the S12 and S13 sockets -

I'm in the UK, so prices are in GBP, and shipping is for Airmail post from the UK.

The S13 socket connector is Ł3.95

I supply this connector, with two terminals - one to suit up to 2.0mm˛ cable, and one to suit 3.0mm˛ cable.

The S12 socket connector is Ł5.95

I supply this connector, with 6 x terminals (5 + a spare) to suit 0.5-1.5mm˛ cable.

Shipping to the US, by Royal Mail Airmail (delivered by USPS), is Ł4.00

So, the total for one of each, posted to the US, would be - Ł13.90

I accept PayPal - so, they take care of the currency exchange.

PM me, if you would like to order them

Hi Paul,

For the engine connections, would you just splice into the wires directly underneath the fuse box?

Also, I am interested in the connectors for the interior, need any parts for trade?

Wow. That's how it's done? Seriously fascinating... and a good price too - 13 pounds? Like 20 bucks or so. I'm impressed. CB radio, huh...who woulda thunk..

Can I revive an ancient thread? Are the plugs for S12 and S13 available anywhere?

Or more importantly, are those specific plugs used anywhere else of the vehicle? I have a parts truck and could use one there.

My use is an oil pressure gauge that I need constant and switched hot, and I don’t really want to use a tap or run all the way to the bay..

Help?
