I just installed a new Optima Yellow Top in my 99' Disco I and it now idles at 3k in park and neutral, when shifted to D it will do 35mph on its own. Kinda cool I guess that I dont have to press the gas in town but Im sure its bad for both gas efficiency and the vehicle itself, any fixes for this yet?

A new battery won't cause that to happen, I run dual Yellow Tops, never had a problem. Have you checked your throttle linkage, is it stuck, how about the throttle plate inside the t/body is it stuck open at idle?

Dunno what it was, I slept on it and when I went to work this morning I had no issues. I did play with the throttle body to see if it was stuck and it wasnt, but now it is idling normal again.
