Granted, I can't go all of the places their rigs will take them(a 3500 lb Jeep on 35s with front and rear lockers will go places that a 5000 lb Discovery with open diffs can only dream of, or maybe have nightmares about), but when I go out with these guys, we push our rigs hard. I don't want to push my rig too hard trying to keep up with the club.
I too am in a hardcore club, 31" tires seem to be my weak point so far. Only the stock Jeeps have tires that small (most rigs have 38" to 44"). I am gradually pushing my truck farther toward its limits at the same time learning to drive offroad. I have body damage and lots of broken plastic parts to prove it.
I plan to go with the club on a two night overland adventure in a couple of weeks. I am going to remove all 5 seats in the back and offer to be the club pack mule (modded Jeeps won't carry much gear) maybe I can score some favorable points.

I have my share of dents and scrapes... the collection of parts that have come off my Rover is growing... fog lights, rear mud flaps, front bumper cover... many other things are dented, cracked, or scratched...

Instead of being a pack mule, carry passengers... last club run, a member's daughter and her fiancee showed up... in a Ford Fiesta. They wanted to come along, but none of the Jeeps had extra seats. I had extra seats AND extra cargo space. They had a great time, I had good company, and I earned some brownie points with some of the club members.
