Default Individual spark plug wire source?

I have an recurring P0308 on the D2. It varies in intensity from an occasional miss, to outright stumbling.

I hooked an inline spark plug test light to it and it seemed to exhibit odd behavior. I will try to check tonight if the connection at the coil is sound.

Assuming that is not the problem, does anyone know of an individual spark plug wire source?

O'Reilly sells individual wires, but they are marked as universal. Anyone tried those?

You never replace 1 wire at a time, if one is failing the others are not far behind.
Try British Parts of Utah for a set of their 8 mm STI wires.

Mike: Somewhere within the last year or so, previous owner had a misfire on 5 & 8. They replaced the wires (STIs are on there right now) and plugs. Didnt help. It apparently ended up being a cracked coil pack, and during my HG job I verified that there is a new one in on that side. I also put new champion platinum plugs in at that time.

Anyway, the point of all that is to say the wires, while not new, are probably not that old. It is a good thing to think about though. If I cant get to #8 pack connection (it looks like it is one of the easier ones) without disassembling much I may just spring for another set.

ZG: Thanks for the link! If I just get one, thats where it'll come from.

I haven't verified 100%.

I know the coil pack is new though and it doesn't seem like coolant ingress.

Im gonna try a more rigorous test when I have time. What other ways do you check a plug wire other than trying a replacement?

If getting a set, Kingsborne are the most bang for the buck, $35 for 8mm.

They might also sell individual wires since they also sell wire in bulk and everything to make your own wires.

To answer your question, the best way to test a wire is with an OHM meter to see how much resistance it has.

Or, swap two wires and see if the problem travels with it.
