Ok since I posted the last time regarding the FUBAR door locks on the DI, now my passenger side door only locks every so often.. I mistakenly opened it with the key the other day, the Alarm of course went off, and now when I lock with the key from the drivers side more often than not the Passenger side door will not lock. It looks like it is trying to lock.. I can actually see the lock pysically try to go down, but it pops back up after going down only 1/4 inch or so. I have to reach over and manually lock it before exiting the vehicle.


Looked for Actuators on AB and $144 whoa.. I need one badly though, I am a carpenter and am in and out of my truck like 30 times a day and cannot be reaching over to lock the passenger door every time I have to get a tool out of the vehicle..

Any words of wisdom here?

 

either find a used one,,,buy new,,, or deal with the broken one.

 

I had one like that and sprayed oil inside of it and it now works great.

 

I did the same thing on my drivers door.
You can also remove the actuator and replace the motor to it with one from Radio Shack.
Just make sure that you get a high speed motor.
