So I had the dreaded flashing M&S lights a month or so ago and I pulled the XYZ switch, opened it up, cleaned the contacts, put it back together and reinstalled it and the lights were gone. The indicator light on the dash showed the correct gears and all was good. Now I'm having issues with the reverse lights. The lights also activate my back-up camera so I can tell when they aren't coming on. Based on my reading of RAVE, the same signal triggers the position indicator and the reverse lights so I'm confused as to why I get one and not the other. Anybody dealt with this before? I have an '04 so my switch is the "new" style one which doesn't have the fingers in it. The initial problem was from wear related arcing, not water intrusion like the older switches experience.
