Radio Button Lights - intermittent
2000 Disco - Stock Alpine Stereo with Harmon Kardon speaker setup...
Radio Button Lights only work intermittently.
Any idea on how to repair this? It appears that each button is lit by small LEDs that boarder the buttons under the faceplate. They all go out at once, or all work at once. The light for the screen works all the time.

You'll need to pull the face plate off and look for that loose connection. I've never done it on the Land Rover, but I have on many other radios. Each is different. Pull the radio, remove the face plate and trace the led's back to the main connection. Will likely require soldering.
If you are not comfortable with this type of repair, maybe hire someone else, or live with the flashing lights. It can make the radio inoperable if done incorrectly.

Spend a $100 and get rid of it. For a $100 you can get a brand name radio with Ipod, USB and more modern stuff plus the few extra watts make those speakers sound nice. My buddy has a Ford Raptor and after I changed out the radio he said my sound is better than the sound in his $55,000 truck.
