Default Finally getting around to installing an oil pressure and temp gauge

I'm finally getting aroung to installing an oil pressure and oil temperature gauge in my DII. I bought this oil filter adapter as it offers 3 ports:

I went with electric digital gauges:

And a dual pod:

Not sure exactly where I am going to mount it yet. I will take some pics and post here once I get around to installing it. I still have to get a couple add a circuit fuse thing-a-ma-bobs to power the gauges and sending units.

Cool, I last week mounted the same adapter - love it.

I used an APC oil press ga. & volts, water temp.

Mounted a three ga pod in recess on top of dash (DI), wife hates it, which is good.

Can you still use the long filter with this adapter? I like to use the K&N 3001 filter.

What's the easiest way to get a coolant temp reading?

I might add all of this to my spring to-do lists when I replace and upgrade a lot of the cooling components.

Pretty cool. I have found in the past that digital gauges can be distracting while driving. I prefer to just glance over and see a needle rather than trying to actually read a number while driving.

I do believe that I will still be able to use the longer filters, we will see.

As far as the easiest way to moniter the coolant temp, just buy a scangauge II.

I went back and forth between analog and digital and decided to go digital but I can see both sides.

With an analog, if you get one calibrated so the needle is in the middle at normal pressure, you don't even need to look at it, which is a good thing when driving. After you have it for a while you can "sense" the needle position just from your peripheral vision. That lets you focus on driving, not reading and processing numbers.
Also, with a digital gauge a change from 52 to 48 (or vice versa) will draw your attention to the gauge, even though it doesn't matter. An analog needle would move very little with that change and not draw your attention from the road, or trail.

Land Rover had it right in the Series Rovers.
