I am replacing the oil pan gasket on my 2003 Disco II and found a small metallic ring in the oil pan. It measures about 8.5mm in diameter, 4.5mm high, and maybe 1mm thick in the middle...one end has a uniform sloped inside edge and the other has a slightly rounded inside edge. I thought perhaps it was some kind of cap for the dip stick tube but it doesn't fit over the end of it. Any thoughts on what it could be? Pictures attached.
