It was me who had good luck with the JB weld on the transmission.

The guy I sold it to redid it and it's still JB welded.

Thank you all for your inputs and support. Once I get the right side of my garage cleaned out, I'm going to roll my Disco in and begin the work.

It looks like where the pan meets the bottom of the tranny has a chunk off the lip. I would watch that area for leaks. It would be best to replace the pan and see if it leaks from that area again. If so, you can straighten the old pan and use it for a template to JB weld (or actual weld) and then bolt the new pan on there. Might want to change the tranny filter while you have the pan off...
