Default jerky ride

Ok so when i'm coasting downhill (from my mountain retreat with my foot completely off the gas and brake pedals the vehicle sometimes gives little jerks. Feels a bit similar to dabbing at the brakes. 98 Disco S1, 140k mls.
Thanks,
Alan

What happens if you go to 3rd. does it feel any different?
At your mileage, when was the last time it had a full tune up and tranny service?
What does your tranny fluid smell like?

It gets serviced regularly but would suspect that the tranny fluid has not been recently changed. What do you think might be going on in the box to cause the jerks?

Your timing could be off, your tranny is getting old and not maintained well. It is hard to say but you better have someone put a little time in to make sure.
