Well guys, I am now finally the proud owner of a disco, it's a 2000 with 85,000 miles. Previous owner changed out the radiator, all four discs and calipers, waterpump, and various other sensors and minor parts Here's whats still bad: srs, abs, tc, and hdc lights are all on at the same time, small coolant hose running from intake to throttle body leaking(easy fix), keyless entry hasn't been working, replaced battery in key and it started locking by itself and going haywire, so I took the battery back out, any advice?

All minor stuff so far, some interior, like the headliner and visors are bad, but it runs great, I'm happy so far. Whats the best service manual out there that I could buy?

Here are 2 things to try to get the air bag light to shut off.
1-buckle and unbuckle the passenger seat belt a dozen times or so, the sensor inside the buckle gets dirty from lack of use.
2-check the wire harness' at the seat belt pretensioners, they wiggle loose/get dirty and it will set off the SRS light.

Well here some bad news, I just found out that my disco has a salvage title on it, I would normally make a big fuss about it but for the price I paid, I think I still got an "ok" deal, I crawled underneath and it looks like it got hit on the front, the bumper support bar looks like its been rewelded, but the actual main frame looks like it didn't get tweeked at all. The airbag sensors are disconnected, maybe explaining my "srs" light, all in all it still looks solid, carfax says it was salvaged in 2002, my guess is it was hit in front, messed up the original grill, bumper, lights, radiator, etc and that why it got salvaged? What do you guys think?

 

There may not even be any airbags in it.
At what miles does the CarFax say it was smashed? How many miles are on it now?

 

at 9,000 miles on 10/17/2000 it was issued a salvage title, it now has 86,000 miles, owner#2 owned it from 12,000-77,500 miles, owner #3 77,500-86,000miles, so that makes me owner#4. I should have known better, I'm usually smarter than that, but oh well it's mine now, i'm gonna baby it to squeeze every mile I can out of it.

Please everyone learn from my mistake and always look into any Disco before you pay up!
