Hi everybody, I just bought a 1997 Disco SE7 V8i with 104k miles. It’s very clean inside and out but has a lot of little issues and failed its last smog. It needed a tune up bad and so will be getting it smogged next week after a major tune up. Im loving the truck so far and will be using it to tow my race car to the track. I used to work as a mechanic, so I know my way around, I just figured I would ask all these questions in case they were common problems.
So here are my questions,
What are things I should address while doing a tune up? I was going change out the Plugs, Wires, Air filter, O2 Sensors, and a oil change. Anything else?
My fog light bulb is out, what kind of bulb do I need?
My driver side windows do not go up or down. I hear the motors running. Regulator?
My rear driver’s side door dose not unlock with the keyless. I can see it trying to go up and down. Bad actuator?
My Disco only came with one key, and it only operates the Ignition not the doors. Where can I order a full set of keys? How much am I looking at? I only have one remote for keyless also. Im thinking about putting in a aftermarket alarm with remote start. Anyone have recommendations?
My passenger side mirror has fallen off, Its just the mirror part not the housing. What a good place to buy just the mirror?
My seat controls are taped into the centerconsole, I have seen this in several rovers. Common problem? Buy new Switches? Glue old ones in? And my driver side vertical adjustment (seat back) does not work. Motor or Switch?
Headlight squirter on the passenger side is broken off, Best place to buy one?
My car came with the Front push bar uninstalled, how do I go about installing it, any instructions?
My Anti lock light does not go off until I get the car moving. In other words after I start the car, the lights stay on until I move. Is this normal? Also the brakes in the rover do not feel that they could stop it very fast, Although I have only really stomped on them from about 25mph. I am also coming from a BMW M5 and a Race car so I don’t have much to compare to.
I would like to install a single din navigation unit. Does anyone have photos of a unit installed in a rover?
I need a new windshield. Good Place top buy?
When I turn on the blower motor it is very loud and vibrates. Fixes?
Like I said I plan to tow with this vehicle. The weight of the car and trailer is about 3500 pounds. Anything I should know about towing with the rover?

I am a noob too but can help a bit.

Squirters are cheap from Atlantic British (google them) - like $10 each.

My front bush bar was attached with the bumper bolts - easy install.

This forum is great (except for Greg maybe ). I am doing a bunch of engine work to mine and have found everything I need right here.

I found the Atalntic British has most everything and there are some parts you need to buy from them. Otherwise I am using my "regular" foreign parts house - fap99.com Much cheaper...

The anti lock brake light stays on until you start moving, it's doing a self check on it. I think its once you get above 7 mph?

could be a regulator poppin the door panel is easy. again download the rave manual

its easy to pop the console off and see exactly why the switches are taped. could be the facade is busted.

check the fuse first

these trucks are really heavy, slow and won't stop like an m5. they will stop more like an M1.. abrams. wont hurt to check your brakes out. EBC makes good ones
