Lightbulb Just finished putting a DII together - need help!

Hey guys,

Just some background info -- I've owned a '92 RRC, a '99 DII, a 01' DII, and now I some how convinced my uncle to take one on. The catch? Well, guy whom was selling it tore the entire truck apart looking for an oil leak ; and then didn't put it back together. I have the RAVE CD, so it's helped me out this far along and now there are a couple of things that have got me stumped. I don't have my blue DII anymore (wrecked up north) so no frame of reference other than the Rave CD.

We're almost there, so any input would be GREAT.

#1. Green wires (loop) on each side of the harness. This is ground?

#2. Can't figure out how the SAI (secondary air injection) system is routed , (metal canisters on both pass / driver's side, next to the dip stick which mount back to the block - [all metal] ) I think I have it right on the pass. side, but can't see where it goes out from the drivers'.

#3. Wires to the starter. There are only two? Just the big one, and the little one that goes to the top of the solenoid?

See the attached pics in this thread. Thanks guys!

#1 is probably the ground for the upper intake. They bolt to the side that faces the firewall, and I THINK they attach with the hardware that attaches the clips that route the spark plug wires.

here's pix of starter wires. On your RAVE wiring diagram, there are tiny numbers at each connector. Those are the connector number, look those up in the electrical library connector list for a pix and pin outs.

Your SAI is incorrect as the pump feeds air to the air injection pipe running behind the intake manifold (above the coils) with each control valve (the silver cans) being feed air from the air injection pipe. Looks as if you are missing the air injection pipe.

Here is a picture with air injection pipe to the pump connection and the air injection pipe to the control valve.

Wow, thanks for all of the quick replies guys. You were all a big help ; and answered every one of my questions. Appreciate this BIG time! I'm going to have my uncle dig through the SAI stuff today and see if he can locate that rear pipe... if not, are there any sellers on these forums / used parts people?

BTW, here are some pics of rover's I've owned before someone ran into me in the blue DII in 2011. Oh well lots of good memories all the same

2001 DII (blue)
1992 RRC (blue)

and the ex-wifes' (took it with her!) gold '99 DII. All great trucks
