I know there is a popular DIY out there shows how to remove modulator side only as one option, but I have no idea why anybody would do this. Even if you remove the modulator It seemed like it would be difficult to get under the ABS unit to replace the shuttle valves. I suggest removing the whole unit together.

All in all this was a much easier DIY than I expected. I procrastinated for months thinking it would be difficult.
