I posted to failbook groups and just did a bunch of research on it, and it seems the only ones that will work are the OEM ones.

This is what mine looks like:

So I’ve decided to now prioritize when I’ll get keyless entry and pay the ~$300 for a new OEM fob.
These designs simply don't work. I tried a bunch of both, 315MHz and 433MHz (I got a 433MHz receiver for that). The fobs I got transmit at the correct frequency, which can be tested easily with a HAM radio or RTL-SDR. I also checked the output signal of the receiver with a scope. It shows the 0s and 1s coming out every time I press the button on the Fob. The transmitter is working, modulating some codes, the receiver can demodulate the signal but the ECU doesn't accept the code. I tried all possible procedures with my nanocom for hours. Then I got a used OEM fob for $25 and it worked right out of the box.

The 2 working fobs I have for my D2 are from a wrecker, not from my vehicle or my BCM but a different D2 entirely. The Nanocom synced my BCM to the 2 fobs without a problem.

To add to the “you need the correct transmitter for this to work” thoughts, I went ahead and ordered a new OEM fob. Took less than 2 minutes to program with the Nanocom. Now I’m on the hunt for a used transmitter as I have a perfect case and brand new key to be cut- just need the transmitter.
