Default Key fob two different rovers!

I have two discos and I'm rebuilding one from the other. The one I'm rebuilding doesn't have a key fob so I was hoping to use the key fob from the other. My question is this. What do I have to swap on the rovers for that key fob to work? I believe I will swap the computer anyways because of the odometer reading....which I also hope transfers. Is there some other unit or module that needs swapped? How hard is it to change the ignition key on these rovers?

The ECM and BCU (Body Control Unit) must remain together. The BCU communicates the unlock/start code to the ECU, which is originally programmed to accept a certain code. You should also keep the speedometer assembly with the ECM and BCU if it has lower miles than the replacement as the ECM will default odometer readings to whichever is higher: ECM or speedometer cluster. Fob - BCU- ECM - Speedo should stick together. Good Luck.

Where is the BCU?

It's next to the ECM, behind the glove box. It has one connector on the side, and 4 on the bottom. Or maybe it's five on the bottom. Either way it's the only one with a connector on the side.
